In fact the Rent covered almost all aspects of the causes of AIDS like lesbianism, gay sexuality, bisexuality, and transgender sexual habits displaying such attitudes through characters in the Broadway musical. The uniqueness of Rent lies in the fact that it transmitted message relating to one of the most controversial subjects through the most conservative media, the musical theater.
